Bloggers Coast to Coast

I feel like there are bloggers in every nook and cranny of the United States.

Except for in Indiana.

The only Indiana blogger that I have met through blogland is Emily @ Paging Dr. Grace...!

I do know some Indiana bloggers through real life but I am talking blog life here!

Anyways, what I am gettting at is that I came across this lovely link up over at Whispering Sweet Nothings and I thought it would be great to find more of my Hoosier friends!

Turns out the map is the most populated in the Midwest!  Who knew!?!?

Not this girl, that's for sure.

Happy Wednesday!

Hello Wednesday!  Thanks for getting here because I am WAY excited for this weekend.  More on that in a minute.  Let's link up with Jamie @ This Kind of Love and What I'm Loving Wednesday and Michelle @ The Vintage Apple and Oh How Pinteresting Wednesday!

I am loving that this weekend my family, boy included is going down to Atlanta to stay with my aunt and uncle!  We don't get to see them so we are VERY excited about this!  Plus we are going to a Braves game which Kelly and I are super-pumped for!  We just have to keep that hurricane from raining on our parade...literally.

I'll be sporting my favorite Braves gear.

And watching Chipper play for the last time in person!  (Hopefully, if he plays)

I am also loving this new ice cream.

Thank you Duff Goldman (one of my favorite celebrity chefs) for inventing the 24 Karat Carrot Cake Ice Cream.  It is perfect for the upcoming season.  You couldn't get more fall if you ate a bowl of crunchy leaves.  YUM!

I am loving my new job!  Although I do miss being with the kinders every day, I love being able to plan and teach.  I am finally getting into the swing of things and can almost say that I am organized.  I am not quite there yet, but almost.  I am still figuring out where I need to start with my IEP kids, what they need to work on, and establishing a routine.  I'm getting there, and I can't wait to share!

And now for Pinterest:

I am loving fall-ish fashion!

And I can't go a week without some yummy food pins!

 BBQ Chicken Dip

Ooey Gooey Caramel Pumpkin Blondies with Chocolate and Walnuts.  Oh-em-gee.

I'll leave you with that!

Until tomorrow friends!  Happy Wednesday!

Insta-Tuesday

Happy Insta-Tuesday!  Let's link up with Jane

Friday night we finally got to see some fireworks!  Happy August 24th!  The burn ban was lifted so we went downtown watch the sky light up. :-)

Kelly and I at the fireworks.

My mom and I at the fireworks.

This is my attempt to get some lesson planning done at home.  We stayed after school for 1.5 HOURS ON A FRIDAY to get ready for our reading block on Monday.  Props to us!  Maybe I should stick this photo in my resume packet for interviews next year!  (Keep in mind that I am just an aide right now and I don't HAVE to be doing this.)

My reward for the picture above.  $1 beer night at the Otters' game!  The last one of the year for us!

Just one last picture....its not from Instagram but its my parents at the fireworks!

Aren't they cute?

Living Room Eyesores

Throughout the summer I have completed 5.5 of my 10 crafty Pinterest projects, which you can read about here, here, and here.  I didn't post about all of them because some of them only involved spray painting a mirror, coffee table, etc., etc.  But my point is, I have improved the looks of some of our old furniture and have jazzed up some of our bare walls.  Now that everything is coming together, I am starting to see my vision, and I think it's going to be really good!

Except for a couple of eyesores of the living room that I absolutely can't stand!

Meet the ugly brown chair.

I know it hurts your eyes, but bare with me here.

Kelly bought this chair during his senior year of college, before we were dating, from some random guy, for $10.  He is so proud of this thing and I couldn't want to get rid of it more!

1. It's ugly.

2. It's squeaky.

3. It's an old person chair.

3. It's ugly.

And guess who always gets to sit in it?

That's right, ME.

He gets home before I do, so the couch (which isn't the best looking couch ever, but it is better than this thing) is already taken when I get home.

Last night when I sat down to catch up on my blog reading I told him that I want a big comfy chair for Christmas. (Since I am always the one to sit in ol' brown, I should get to have a new one right?)  We'll see what Santa brings.

Dear Santa,
Something like this would do just fine. :-)

Insert subject 2.

The mini fridge.

Yes, that's right.  We have a mini fridge in our living room, sitting on top of an old coffee table.

This also made the move when came from our old, shared, rental house.   It sits right next to the chair that I hate.  I argued and argued and argued and there was just no budging.  The deal was/is if I get a full-time job, then I can put it where ever I want.  But until then, it will sit in the living room, at arm's length.

Do you have any un-wanted, un-welcome eyesores in your home?

Sunday Social- The Internet

It's time for another Sunday Social with Neely and Ashley!  This week it's all about surfin' the Internet!

1. What is the first website you log into each day?

I always check blogger or Pinterest first before I do anything else!

2. Give us some funny websites that you visit that we need to know about.

Well after I read all of my favorite blogs and write a post myself and check Pinterest and Facebook and my email, there is not a whole lot of extra time to get on other websites.  I would have to get up at 3:00 in the morning!  So, I have no answer to this question.

3. Pinterest or Facebook? Why?

Pinterest for sure!  I never thought I would be able to say this, but I can go days without checking my Facebook now!

4. Twitter or Instagram? Why?

Instagram!  Twitter is kind of boring to me.  I don't so much care about what celebrities are doing, nor do I need an update of someones life every 5 minutes, so it kind of gets on my nerves and I don't check it very often.  I have just recently gotten into Instagram.  I don't really follow anyone on there, I just use it for the photo effects!

5. Favorite YouTube video. Post it!

Charlie Bit Me is my all time fav!  I hadn't watched that in forever!  I forgot that I had it memorized because I watched it so much!

6. Biggest online pet peeve?

When people on Facebook clog your news feed with all of their stupid quote pictures!  I hate that!  And when the post angry status updates or they complain all the time!  Delete friend!

Mod Podge Tables- Crafty Projects Volume 3

So I saw these old tables at a flea market for $7.00 a piece.  I passed on them the first time around because they are kind of wobbly and seemed poorly made, but then I decided what the heck, and I went back to buy them the next day because I saw this on Pinterest:

Mod Podge Table

Lucky for me, when I went back to get them, they were marked down to $5.00!

I already had some green spray paint so I got to work!

I just sprayed the legs and the edge of the top because you can't see the bottom and the top will be covered with fabric.

Once the paint was dry I turned the table upside down over the top of my fabric and traced the top.

Then I cut out what I had traced.

I ironed it to get the wrinkles out.

I painted the mod podge on the table surface first, then I laid the fabric over the top.  I did one half at a time to prevent any wrinkling.

After the mod podge was coated underneath, I trimmed the edges to make sure everything was even and lined up nicely.

Then I put a layer of mod podge over the top of the fabric.  2 or 3 coats should do.  I just did two because my tables have glass over the top so it didn't matter if the fabric was shiny or not.

Let it dry over night.  Hmmm I may not have done this.

Lay the glass back over the top.

Ta da!  I'm in love.

I put one next to the ugly brown chair that I hate.

And the other next to the ugly couch with the ugly cover over the top that I also hate but not quite as much as the ugly brown chair.

Happy Friday!
